About Jaspers by Ivie

I'm Christine Ivie, and I live in the piney woods of East Texas — where the trees are tall, the pace is slower, and the past is worth keeping.

Jaspers by Ivie started the way many meaningful things do: out of necessity and love. When my husband and I were flooded out of our home, we had to downsize. We sorted through a lifetime of belongings and decided what stayed and what went. The glass survived. And somehow, that felt like a sign.

My love of vintage actually began earlier, when my mother passed away and I inherited my grandmother's and great-grandmother's entertaining serveware — beautiful, storied pieces that had graced tables for generations. Holding them, I felt connected to women I never got to know well enough. That feeling never left me.

The shop is named for Jasper, my fourth grandchild and one of my greatest treasures. He's a year and a half old and already the kind of joy that makes everything worth doing. The name Jaspers Treasures was already taken, so Jaspers by Ivie it became — and honestly, it fits better anyway.

I believe that every vintage piece carries a moment in time. A wooden thread spool probably doesn't mean much to most people. To me, it's someone's hands, someone's patience, someone's ordinary Tuesday. I want the things in this shop to find people who feel that too.

I source carefully and personally — sometimes too personally. Recently, I fell through an attic floor while hunting for pieces for the shop, fracturing my pelvis in several places. I'm still healing. But the shop goes on, because this work matters to me, and I hope that love comes through in every piece you find here.
